Our Heritage

APPEARANCES Salon first opened its doors to Corvallis patrons July 19, 1993. This Salon was co-founded by husband and wife team and business partners Steve and Lyn Johnson along with top stylist Christy Kirby. To create the APPEARANCES culture, they cultivated an atmosphere based on educational programs, opportunities for advancement, and a people first environment. To this day, these are still the core values that drive our thriving business.

Expanding Our Horizons

In September of 2005, The SALON on campus opened across from Oregon State University's campus in Corvallis. Offering a complete retail store and a full service hair salon.

On March 10th 2009 The SALON North Albany opened making it the newest member of The SALON family. Located at the North Albany Village . Under the direction of Anna Pettengill The SALON North Albany host 6 chairs and 1 Waxing room. The SALON provides our signature style to the residents and business community of North Albany and its surrounding areas.

In 2010 The Salon (formerly APPEARANCES) was opened at their new location at the Corvallis Crossing shopping center.
